    • Home of the Taleju Temple; the statues of King Pratap Malla and Kal Bhairav, the god of destruction; the coronation platform; the hall of public audience; the Big Bell; the Big Drums; the Jagannath Temple; and two museums
    • Also the location of the Kasthamandap (from which Nepal derives its name), a temple built from the wood of a single tree
